Merrifield spent the majority of his career with the Kansas City Royals, becoming a three-time MLB All-Star and one of the most consistent hitters and base stealers in the game. He led the American League in stolen bases three times and became the first Royal ever to lead Major League Baseball in both hits and stolen bases in the same season.

In 2018, Merrifield led all of Major League Baseball with 192 hits and 45 stolen bases, establishing himself as one of the game's most productive all-around players. He followed that up by leading the American League in hits again in 2019, while also leading the league in triples.

Merrifield finished his Royals career with 1,001 hits, 74 home runs, 387 RBI, and 172 stolen bases, becoming one of the defining players of the Kansas City Royals' post-World Series era. He finished his MLB career with 1,249 hits and 218 stolen bases.
