Jones spent the majority of his career with the Atlanta Braves, becoming one of the most feared power hitters and elite defensive players of his generation. He was a five-time MLB All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove Award winner, and Silver Slugger Award winner who established himself as one of the most complete center fielders in baseball history.
In 1996, Jones became the youngest player ever to hit a home run in a World Series game when he homered in his first two at-bats against the New York Yankees. He went on to become a cornerstone of the Braves' lineup throughout the late 1990s and 2000s.
In 2005, Jones had one of the greatest seasons of his career, hitting 51 home runs and driving in 128 runs, finishing second in National League MVP voting. He followed that with another 41-home-run season in 2006, giving him back-to-back seasons with at least 40 home runs.
Jones finished his 17-year MLB career with 434 home runs, 1,289 RBI, 1,933 hits, and 128 stolen bases. Defensively, he won 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, tying him for the most ever by an outfielder.
